In Slow Trading Day, Gold Holds Range

Most precious metals saw very little momentum today as a quiet geopolitical climate and lack of market news led to no real catalyst for activity. Spot gold posted at $1,275.30-1,275.60 per ounce, down around $1.05 from yesterday.

In other precious metals, most traded in a similarly tight range, with only palladium as the exception, trading at $998-1,003 per ounce, an increase of $5 from yesterday. Spot silver is up ever so slightly ($0.005) to $16.32-16.36 per ounce. Platinum is relatively unchanged as well at $925-930 an ounce.

Spot Brent crude oil is up 0.11 percent to $62.50 per barrel. The U.S. dollar is down on its index - the currency slipped 0.02 percent to 93.07. In equities, the Shanghai composite is up 0.06 percent to 3,311.60.
