  • The Value Of Your Gold Is Determined By 3 Factors:

    1. THE SPOT PRICE

The price, per ounce, that gold is trading at on the open market.

    2. THE KARAT (K) OF YOUR GOLD

The purity of your gold. 24K is considered to be pure gold. We accurately test the purity of your gold directly in front of you.

    3. THE WEIGHT

We put your gold on a scale, determine the weight, and make you an offer.

Why Oxbridge?

  1. Oxbridge Coins is a family owned and operated Gold Buyer with a retail store in San Francisco.

  2. Our location is in Pacific Heights, a safe and relatively quiet neighborhood.

  3. We do not spend ridiculous amounts of money on Marketing and Advertising, so this allows us to transfer these savings in the form of higher payments to our customers.

  4. Transparency: The entire process is handled right in front of our clients, and each step of the process is explained.

  5. Appraisal Accuracy: In addition to the traditional ‘Acid Test’, we also use an X-ray Fluorescent Scanner that identifies the exact percentage of pure gold that each item contains.

  6. Quick, and Efficient Service; Oxbridge Coins has mastered the art of gold buying. We are regularly complimented by clients who shop around and tell us that our transactions take just a fraction of the time of our competitors.

  7. Experience: We have been in business since an ounce of gold was less than $300. We have seen it all. Unlike many other gold buyers who opened their doors in the last 5 years, we have been in the precious metals industry when it wasn’t so popular.

  8. Expertise: We are one of the few certified dealers of PCGS, ANACS, and NGC in the San Francisco Bay Area. This attribute is especially important when dealing with potentially rare coins that most other dealers in San Francisco simply do not have the knowledge to properly value.

  9. We offer free verbal appraisals, with no pressure to sell your items. We are extremely confident that our price will beat anyone else’s, so we don’t need to use any coercive tactics to pressure you to sell.

  10. We have an A+ BBB rating, and perfect 5 star rating on Yelp!

  11. We pay Cash, or Company Check on the spot, with no ropes to climb or loops to jump through to receive your payment.

The Process

  1. We begin by appraising the precious metals content of your jewelry with the ‘Acid Test’ and an X-Ray Fluorescent Analyzer which tells us the exact purity of each piece.

  2. We then weigh your items on an NTEP approved, Legal for Trade Scale. Usually we separate the jewelry based on type of precious metal, as well as karat content. For example; we weigh 10k gold, 14k gold, 18k gold, 22k gold, Sterling Silver, and Platinum all in separate piles.

  3. Afterwards, we calculate your payout based on the precious metals spot prices at that time. This is a live market that updates every few seconds. We usually pay out between 80 percent and 90 percent of the spot price.

  4. If you accept our offer we will pay you by cash or company check right there on the spot. If you’d like to shop around, or are simply not ready to sell your items quite yet we will thank you for your time and hope that we can do business in the future.
